White PI 0016592 Demolition and Removal of Improvements in Right of Way

Background

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking bids from pre-qualified firms to provide demolition and removal services for improvements, structures, or other encumbrances in the Right of Way or Easement Areas. This solicitation aims to ensure compliance with state regulations and standards for demolition work, particularly concerning environmental safety and public health.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition and proper disposal of miscellaneous structures including: 1) Water well with CMU enclosure and associated footings; 2) Water well with concrete enclosure and associated footings. Both water wells must be closed by a licensed water well contractor in accordance with Georgia's conservation laws. All demolition debris must be removed and disposed of properly in compliance with the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act. The work must follow the Demolition Technical Specifications dated April 2018. Additional requirements include obtaining dig permits, removing vegetative materials, disposing of concrete foundations, providing fill dirt to ensure proper drainage, and implementing erosion control measures.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence immediately after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed within thirty (30) days unless modified by GDOT.

Place of Performance

The work will take place at specified locations within White County, Georgia, particularly along Charlie Thomas Road.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold prequalification status for Right of Way Property Management Services issued by GDOT. The Prime Contractor must be prequalified in Demolition service class E-3. All subcontractors involved must also meet prequalification requirements. A Drug-Free Workplace Certification is required, along with proof of insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation.
