Smouse Pre-School Kitchen Renovation Project

Background

The Des Moines Independent Community School District is seeking proposals for the Smouse Pre-School Kitchen Renovation Project. The goal of this project is to enhance the kitchen facilities at Smouse Pre-School, thereby supporting the educational mission of the district by providing improved services and facilities for students.

Work Details

The project involves construction, repair, and installation work as specified in the bid documents. This includes a complete renovation of the kitchen area at Smouse Pre-School, which may involve updating equipment, fixtures, and finishes to meet current standards and improve functionality. Period of Performance

The work under this contract is expected to commence immediately after the award of the contract and must be completed within 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed.

The renovation will take place at Smouse Pre-School located at 2820 Center Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50312.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of their total bid amount. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within Iowa, as well as Iowa domestic labor. Bidders are encouraged to attend a pre-bid conference scheduled for June 17, 2026.
