Parking Lot resurfacing

Background

The Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, a Commonwealth Charter School located at 195 Route 137, Harwich, Massachusetts, is seeking proposals for the resurfacing of its front parking lot. The project aims to enhance the safety and functionality of the parking area for the school community.

Work Details

The project includes the following tasks: 1. Resurfacing the existing asphalt by milling the top layer and applying a new 2-inch layer while repairing areas needing additional work. The entrance from Halls Path must be level with the lot. 2. The total area to be resurfaced is approximately 60,000 square feet, which includes several small and longer islands that separate sections of the lot and multiple storm drains. 3. Re-striping of the entire parking lot to match the existing layout, ensuring compliance with ADA requirements. 4. Preparation and cleaning steps include: - Cleaning the entire area by removing dirt, debris, weeds, and oil stains. - Machine edging to remove grass or dirt covering asphalt edges. - Excavating, cleaning, and patching any potholes or failed base areas with hot mix asphalt before application. - Removal of old railroad ties that meet the asphalt (the Awarding Authority will handle this). - Cleaning and resurfacing around catch basins.

Period of Performance

Work is to commence after July 13, 2026, and must be completed no later than August 7, 2026.

The work will be performed at Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School located at 195 Route 137, Harwich, MA 02645.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have project-related prior experience in municipal or commercial repaving projects and provide at least two references. If selected, a bid deposit of 5% of the total bid value is required along with a 50% payment bond if costs exceed $25,000. Compliance with Massachusetts Labor Harmony and OSHA requirements is mandatory along with payment of prevailing wages as per Department of Labor standards. Bidders must also provide a statement of compliance with Massachusetts tax laws.
