Background

The Tacoma School District (TPS) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide Special Education Contracted Services. The District aims to establish contracts for these services to enhance the educational experience for students with special needs. TPS serves approximately 29,000 children across various educational levels and is committed to providing high-quality support tailored to individual student needs. This procurement is intended to minimize costs while improving service efficiency and effectiveness.

Work Details

The services required under this contract may include, but are not limited to: - Speech language pathology - Occupational therapy - Physical therapy - Educational diagnostician services - Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) services - Counseling or behavioral support - Nursing support (RN/LPN/ESA RN) - Visual and hearing support services - Interpreting - Audiology - Assistive technology translation Vendors will be expected to provide these services on an as-needed basis without any guaranteed minimum volume of work. Specific responsibilities include maintaining logs and therapy notes for student services, attending ARD meetings, submitting individual student reports, completing evaluations and progress reports on IEPs, and consulting with school staff.

Period of Performance

The initial term of the contract will be three years starting from September 1, 2026, with options for two additional one-year renewals at the discretion of the District.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed within the Tacoma School District facilities located in Tacoma, Washington.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding special education services. They must also ensure that all personnel maintain appropriate Washington licensure and certifications required for their respective roles. The District reserves the right to request the removal or replacement of any vendor employee whose performance is deemed unsatisfactory.
