Background

The City of Rio Rancho is seeking bids for fertilizer and pesticide consulting services, along with the supply and delivery of various fertilizer and pesticide products. This initiative aims to support seasonal applications and routine maintenance across approximately ten sports fields and forty-five city parks and facilities, covering around 450 acres. The goal is to ensure optimal soil health and plant growth through tailored fertilizer blends based on soil analysis.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services: 1. Supply and delivery of specified fertilizer blends, including special formulations as needed for city soil conditions. 2. Conduct annual soil sampling from city sports fields and parks, with tests performed in a laboratory (not on-site). 3. Develop a detailed fertilizer schedule based on soil sample results, which must be approved by the city's contract representative before implementation. 4. Provide on-site training and consulting regarding the application and usage of the products at no additional cost to the city. 5. Deliver fertilizers as per an approved Fertilizer Schedule, which includes three seasonal applications per year.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is set for one year, with options to renew for up to three additional one-year terms, not exceeding four years total.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed within the City of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, specifically at designated parks and facilities throughout the city.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a comprehensive general liability insurance policy with a minimum coverage of $1 million per claim. They must also comply with New Mexico's Worker’s Compensation Act. Bidders need to be prequalified through the City’s Purchasing Division to submit bids. Additionally, proof of business registration in Rio Rancho is required if not already registered.
