Background

Howard County, Maryland is seeking a qualified firm to furnish plant materials for forest mitigation. The goal of this contract is to support the County's environmental initiatives by providing necessary plant materials as outlined in the solicitation documents.

Work Details

The Contractor will provide plant materials for forest mitigation as specified in the line items tab of the eProcurement system. All plants must be healthy, vigorous, and free from disease and defects. Container grown nursery stock must have a well-established root system and be grown within a 100-mile radius of Howard County for at least six months. The Contractor must maintain an inventory sufficient to accommodate orders during specified planting seasons (March-April or September-December). Additionally, all plants must be treated with rodent and deer repellents upon request, and the Contractor must practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The specifications also require that all containerized plants be free of weeds and watered prior to delivery.

Period of Performance

The Agreement period shall commence on or about July 10, 2026, for one year with an option to renew for four additional years in one-year increments at the County's discretion.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed within Howard County, Maryland, specifically requiring that the Contractor's place of business is located within 50 road miles of the Department of Recreation & Parks Headquarters.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must have at least three years of experience in furnishing plant material for forest mitigation.
