Annual Contract - Lawn Care Services (Mowing) Districtwide

Background

The Granite School District (GSD) is seeking to enter into an annual contract for lawn care services, specifically mowing, across multiple locations within the district. The goal of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to secure a qualified Landscape and Recreation (S330) Contractor who can meet the specifications outlined in the solicitation. The contract is anticipated to be awarded to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor, pending GSD Board approval.

Work Details

The contractor will provide comprehensive lawn care services including: lawn mowing, steel edging, string trimming, and removing clippings from hard surfaces at 85 designated locations within the Granite School District. Services will be performed according to a predetermined schedule: - For the first year of the contract, services will span 14 weeks from July 13, 2026, to October 16, 2026. - If renewed, years two through five will cover a 26-week period from mid-April to mid-October. - Mowing will occur once a week on designated days with grass cut to a height of 3 inches. - Steel edging will be conducted bi-weekly and string trimming weekly during the service season. - The contractor must ensure that grass clippings are not left on sidewalks or gutters and must clean up any debris before leaving each site. - The contractor is responsible for maintaining all equipment used on GSD property and must report any damage caused during operations.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence after GSD Board approval on July 7, 2026, and run through June 30, 2027, with options for annual renewal through June 30, 2031.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations throughout the Granite School District in Utah.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold a current valid Utah S330 – Landscape and Recreation contractor’s license. They are required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws including employment laws such as the Americans With Disabilities Act. Contractors must maintain liability insurance of at least one million dollars per occurrence and three million dollars aggregate. Additionally, contractors must not have direct unsupervised contact with students and must adhere to GSD's standards of conduct.
