Background

The West Virginia Department of Health, Bureau for Public Health, Office of Epidemiology & Prevention Services is issuing this Announcement of Funding Availability (AFA) to support immunization services and activities through a statewide immunization delivery system. The goal is to enhance vaccination rates among adolescents aged 11 to 21 years in all counties of West Virginia. This funding opportunity is part of the SFY 2026-27 Aid to Local Appropriations and aims to improve public health outcomes through increased immunization coverage.

Work Details

The selected grantee will be responsible for the following services: 1. Conduct educational campaigns on adolescent immunizations, including providing printed and electronic materials to healthcare providers and the public. 2. Target outreach efforts towards private-provider communities and conduct regional coalition meetings to identify barriers to immunization. 3. Assess immunization records and encourage private providers to utilize the West Virginia Statewide Immunization Information System (WVSIIS). 4. Deliver educational events for healthcare providers regarding state-supplied vaccine provisions. Performance measures will include tracking the number of educational activities conducted, assessing improvement in adolescent immunization rates, and evaluating training opportunities provided.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance

All counties in West Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations that have previously received funding from the West Virginia Department of Health. Applicants must be located within the region for which they are applying and are required to submit a detailed Statement of Work (SOW), a Detailed Line-Item Budget (DLIB), and other specified application components.
