Security Guard Services For Town Hall

Background

The Town of Mount Pleasant, SC, is seeking qualified Security Agency firms to provide armed and unarmed security guard services at the Town Hall located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and security of Town personnel, property, and visitors. Services are expected to commence on or about September 1, 2026.

Work Details

The Security Agency shall provide State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) certified armed and unarmed guards. Services include: - Minimum of 1 armed and 1 unarmed guard during after-hours events. - Additional hours may be required for Town Council Meetings lasting 2-3 hours. - Overtime and additional guards will be billed at the unit rate based on the hourly rate established by this contract. - Guards must be present by 7:00 a.m. if scheduled personnel cannot attend work. Duties include providing frontline security, entry control, screening individuals with a metal detector, operating an X-ray machine for bags/packages, assisting the public, completing roving patrols, and reporting unusual incidents or hazardous conditions. The Security Agency is responsible for all personnel's background checks and ensuring they comply with SLED requirements.

Period of Performance

The contract will be for one (1) year with options to renew annually for up to a total of five (5) years.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed or registered under S.C. Code of Laws 1976 - Title 40, Sec 40-17-10. The Security Agency must have been in business for at least three years under the same name and structure. All security officers provided must be employees of the agency. Background checks are required for all personnel performing work under this contract.
