Laundry & Linen Services - DVA.SWLVH

Background

The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to establish a service contract for Laundry and Linen Services for the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home (SWLVH). The goal of this contract is to provide complete linen and laundry services, ensuring that all linens are processed, cleaned, and inventoried according to the specifications provided. This initiative supports the agency's mission to provide quality care and services to veterans.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for supplying, processing, cleaning, and inventorying linens for SWLVH. Specific requirements include: - Delivery of 9,000 blankets, 4,800 bariatric fitted sheets (Encompass Versa-Knit or equivalent), 18,000 twin flat sheets (60" x 108", 100% polyester), 5,000 twin fitted sheets (30" x 92" x 15", white), 11,000 standard pillow cases (white), 52,000 bath towels (24" x 48", white), and various mops and cleaning supplies. - All linens must be free from stains or holes and delivered in designated areas within the facility. - Clean linens must be neatly folded and packaged with a packing slip detailing items delivered. - Soiled linen must be picked up from designated areas with a manifest stating item quantities. - A linen replacement program must be provided at no additional cost for torn or stained items. - Deliveries are required three times a week on specified days including holidays. - The vendor must comply with infection control standards and provide training related to infection prevention.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and will run until June 30, 2027. There is an option for renewal for two additional 12-month periods at the same prices and conditions, making the total potential contract duration not to exceed 36 months.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home located at 1610 Evangeline Road, Jennings, LA 70546.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold current certification with the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) throughout the contract term. They must also comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding healthcare laundry services. Additionally, bidders should have an emergency contingency plan in place for natural disasters.
