Paving The Way Project 10

Background

The Macon-Bibb County Board of Commissioners is issuing an invitation for sealed bids for the Paving The Way Project 10, aimed at roadway repair and resurfacing in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. This project is part of the Engineering Department's efforts to enhance local infrastructure. The goal is to improve road conditions and ensure safety for all users.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following services: - Milling of existing asphalt (12,164 tons) - Application of bituminous tack (8,846.55 gallons) - Roadway patching (14,744.26 square yards) - Installation of 12.5 mm Superpave asphalt (12,164 tons) - Installation of storm manhole risers (77 units) - Installation of water valve risers (47 units) - Adjustment of manholes (77 units) and water valves (47 units) - Traffic signal loop installation (6 units) - Striping including center lines and edge lines (126,430 linear feet) - Painted arrows (14 units) - Painted crosswalks (1,775 linear feet) The contractor must also coordinate with the Macon Water Authority for locating paved-over utilities prior to commencing work.

Period of Performance

The contract period is set for 120 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The contractor must commence work within 10 calendar days following this notice and complete all work requirements within 150 calendar days.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in various locations throughout Macon-Bibb County, Georgia, specifically on designated main streets as outlined in the bid documents.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid bond equal to 5% of the total base bid. They are required to provide a Bidder Qualification Form, Financial & Legal Stability Statement, List of Sub-Contractors, and a Minority Participation Goal form. Additionally, bidders must comply with E-Verify requirements and submit a Non-Collusion Affidavit. Insurance coverage must include general liability ($1 million) and worker’s compensation as per state regulations.
