Summary: Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing a contract for critical utility restoration projects at the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. The goal of this contract is to address deficiencies in water, wastewater, electrical, and communication systems to support the NPS's mission of providing visitor services and amenities at the North Rim starting in 2026. This project follows the impacts of the Dragon Bravo Fire and aims to restore essential infrastructure. Work Details The scope of work includes: 1. Water System Improvements: - Rehabilitation of the Roaring Springs Pumphouse (RSPH) to supply raw water from the Roaring Springs source. - Installation of raw and finished water pipelines between the North Rim water storage tanks (Tank Farm) and RSPH for improved reliability and reduced repairs. - Rehabilitation of the raw water pipeline between Roaring Springs Cave and RSPH. 2. Electrical Power Distribution System Restoration: - Removal of transformers. - Testing generators and generator standby systems, including multiple generators on ATS, medium voltage cables, and transformers. - Replacement of system components. - Re-energizing the distribution system to confirm power supply to lift stations/pumps prior to initiating wastewater/water system work. Period of Performance The period of performance is to be determined, with an emphasis on starting in Fall 2026 and final completion expected in Spring 2027. Place of Performance Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. Bidder Requirements This contract is a 100% set-aside for Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises (ISBEEs) via the Bureau of Indian Affairs Construction – Multiple Award Contract (C-MAC). Bidders must meet specific contractor licensing requirements relevant to construction tasks.
