Annual Backflow Preventor Testing at Spokane VA Medical Center

Summary: Background The Spokane VA Medical Center is seeking a contractor for a five-year contract to conduct annual inspections, testing, and certification of backflow preventers and cross-connection devices. This requirement is essential to ensure the safety of potable and non-potable water systems by preventing cross-contamination and verifying proper operation. The contract supports the mission of the VA to provide safe and reliable water systems at their facility located at 4815 N. Assembly St, Spokane, WA 99205. Work Details The contractor will perform the following tasks: CLIN 1 – Inspection and Testing of 100 Devices: Conduct annual inspection, testing, and certification of 100 backflow preventers and cross-connection devices. Maintain an accurate inventory/log of all devices inspected. CLIN 2 – Repairs for up to 20 Devices (If Required): Provide repairs for up to 20 backflow preventers if deficiencies are identified during testing, including component replacement, adjustments, and re-testing as needed. All work must comply with standards set by ABPA, TJC, ASSE, NFPA 25, NFPA 13, AWWA, OSHA, CFR requirements, and other applicable regulations. Assembly Street, Spokane, WA 99205. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have certified personnel licensed to perform backflow preventer inspection, testing, and repair in the State of Washington. The contractor must furnish all labor, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and management required for the services. Emergency service must be available 24/7. All personnel must check in with VA officials and follow VA policies.
