Summary (Newest Update)

Background NASA/NSSC has a requirement to conduct an investigation to develop a camera design concept and define electrical, thermal, mechanical, and flight software interfaces that will meet the requirements for the Aerosol Radiometer for Global Observation of the Stratosphere (ARGOS) instrument on the Stratosphere Troposphere Response using Infrared Vertically-resolved light Explorer (STRIVE) mission. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to SENSORS UNLIMITED INC, which has been determined as the sole provider for this requirement. Work Details The contractor will conduct an investigation to develop a camera design concept and define interfaces including: - Electrical interfaces: digital, analog, electrical power, inrush, TEC power, camera electronics power, timing, and electrical interface drawing. - Mechanical interfaces: envelope, field of view, field of regard, focal plane details, mass, and mechanical interface drawing. - Thermal interfaces: locations for conducting away power dissipation, operating limits, qualification and survival limits. - Flight Software (FSW) interfaces: command interface settings for TEC settings, exposure times, co-adding settings, windowing protocols, downlink protocol and internal buffering. Deliverables include Preliminary and Final Interface Control Documents due at 3 months and 6 months after award respectively. The contractor will also support technical exchange meetings including weekly updates and monthly status reports. Period of Performance The investigation will last for 12 months from the award date. Place of Performance NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Bidder Requirements The contractor must have capabilities in developing camera design concepts with specific experience in electrical, thermal, mechanical engineering related to aerospace applications. No specific certifications or licenses are mentioned.
