Summary: Background The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is responsible for maintaining and repairing physical infrastructure across its campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. The goal of this contract is to improve roadway conditions through various repairs and enhancements, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and transportation necessary to complete the following tasks: 1. Entrance Road Improvements (Approx. 80,000 SF): Supply and install road base material; regrade roadway for proper drainage; water and compact subgrade and base materials. 2. Asphalt Repairs and Maintenance: a. Crack Sealing: Seal cracks measuring ¼ inch or greater; b. Major Crack Repair (Approx. 220 LF): Saw cut and remove damaged asphalt; excavate existing road base; replace with clean road base; replace asphalt to match existing grade; dispose of removed materials offsite; perform repairs in phases to maintain access to buildings; c. Concrete Drain Pan Replacement (Approx. 20 SF): Remove existing concrete; prepare subgrade; install new concrete drain pan; d. Asphalt Separation at Building Interfaces: Clean gaps, install backer rod, apply flexible sealant; e. Slurry Seal Application (Approx. 50,000 SF): Apply slurry seal per specifications ensuring uniform coverage and proper curing. 3. Traffic Control: Maintain traffic control throughout the project ensuring safe access to buildings. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the NIST Fort Collins Campus in Boulder, Colorado.
