Summary: Background The U.S. Coast Guard Base Los Angeles - Long Beach Contracting Office is seeking bids for the inspection, overhaul, and complete repair of the HVAC system at the Marine Safety Detachment in Santa Barbara, CA. This contract aims to address known deficiencies in the HVAC system and ensure its operational efficiency. The solicitation is reserved for small businesses under a total small business set-aside. Work Details The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, parts, and materials necessary to replace a variable frequency drive (VFD) for the blower and replace the second stage compressor, condenser fan motor, blower belt, and recharge the HVAC system. Specific tasks include: 1) Removing and replacing the failed VFD component; 2) Recovering refrigerant from the second stage compressor circuit; 3) Un-welding piping to the compressor and drier; 4) Installing new OEM components including a compressor and filter drier; 5) Connecting wiring to new components; 6) Performing pressure tests on piping joints; 7) Adding refrigerant to the circuit; 8) Conducting start-up checks for proper operation. The contractor must also ensure compliance with local VOC laws and provide all necessary documentation upon project completion. Period of Performance The work shall be completed within 14 calendar days from acceptance of submittals.
