2026 LMIG LRA Resurfacing

Background

Lowndes County is issuing a bid for the 2026 LMIG LRA Resurfacing project. The goal of this contract is to improve and repair various roads within the county, enhancing transportation infrastructure in alignment with the county's mission to maintain safe and efficient roadways.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for resurfacing multiple roads including Val Del Road, Dasher Road, Knights Ferry Road, Oak Trace Road, Rolling Pine Drive, Water Oak Trail, Pinebrook Drive, Wellington Woods Drive, Beaver Run Road, Quail Nest Drive, Twin Oaks Road, and Bent Tree Drive. Specific tasks include: - Applying a bituminous tack coat before each lift - Leveling with 80 lbs OG1 - Topping with 165 lbs 12.5 mm Superpave - Picking up all shoulder clippings - Grading shoulders - Permanent grassing (hydro-seed) - Temporary and permanent striping (4" and 5" wide) - Installing stop bars (24" thermoplastic) - Ensuring smooth transitions at bridge approaches by milling. The total length of resurfacing spans approximately 7.56 miles across various specified widths.

Period of Performance

The contract duration is set for 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed in Lowndes County, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be DOT approved contractors and are required to submit a bid bond of 5%. Additionally, all contractors must comply with the Georgia Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act and provide a Drug-Free Workplace Certification.
