Nye-Holman State Forest Compartment 4 Invasives Project

Background

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is seeking quotes for a project aimed at eradicating invasive plants across 61 acres of forestland located in Compartment 4 of Nye-Holman State Forest in Tolland, CT. Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the selective application of herbicides to target invasive plants. The treatment sites are accessible via Patten Road (State Forest Road) and the Nye-Holman Archery Range Trail parking lot, both reachable from S River Road in Tolland, CT. The successful vendor should expect to navigate the forest on foot and/or using a UTV. The proposed treatment schedule includes initial treatments in the summer/fall of 2026, followed by a follow-up treatment in spring/summer of 2027.

Period of Performance

The contract work is scheduled to begin in summer/fall of 2026 and will include follow-up treatments into spring/summer of 2027.
