Paving The Way Project 8

Background

The Macon-Bibb County Board of Commissioners is soliciting bids for the Paving The Way Project 8, aimed at enhancing roadway infrastructure within Macon-Bibb County, Georgia. The project is part of the Engineering Department's ongoing efforts to improve local roads and ensure safe transportation for residents and visitors. The contract will be awarded based on the total bid price, with an emphasis on encouraging participation from Minority, Women Owned, and other Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for various roadway repair and resurfacing tasks including: - Full width milling of asphalt from lip of curb to lip of curb or road edge to road edge on roads without curb and gutter. - Patching to a maximum depth of four inches where necessary to remove cracking. - Installation of 12.5 mm Superpave Asphalt at a thickness of 1.5 inches and 9.5 mm Superpave Asphalt at a thickness of 1.25 inches as specified in the bid schedule. - Adjustments for manholes and water valves as needed during construction. - Traffic control measures including installation of signs and flagging personnel during construction activities. - Erosion control measures such as temporary grassing or silt fencing where required.

Period of Performance

The contract period is set for 150 calendar days following the issuance of a Notice to Proceed, which includes all necessary clean-up and demobilization activities.

Place of Performance

All work will take place within Macon-Bibb County, Georgia, specifically along designated main streets as outlined in the bid documents.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a bid bond equal to 5% of the total base bid amount. They are also required to provide documentation including a Bidder Qualification Form, List of Subcontractors, Financial & Legal Stability Statement, E-Verify Affidavit, and proof of insurance coverage that meets specified requirements.
