Professional Architectural and Engineering Services

Background

The Allegheny County Department of Facilities Management and Department of Parks require consultant services in the disciplines of architectural and engineering services. The goal is to engage consultants for various capital construction projects, including new construction, renovations of existing County buildings, and various Parks projects. The County intends to award contracts to firms that vary in size and specialty to meet these diverse project needs.

Work Details

Consultants will provide professional architectural and engineering services including but not limited to: 1. Civil Engineering and Design Services: a) Stormwater management (green and conventional design methods). b) Sanitary sewer system planning (conventional and alternative methods). c) Land development, utility design, and related services. d) All surveying by a professional land surveyor as required for project design. e) All permitting required for project design. 2. Structural Engineering and Design Services: a) Repairs for park facilities (shelters, bridges, buildings). b) Surveying as required for project design. c) Permitting required for project design. 3. Landscape Architectural Design Services: a) Design for recreational activities and natural areas (athletic fields, trails, playgrounds). b) Stormwater management infrastructure. 4. Capital Projects Architectural Services: a) Pre-design services including feasibility studies. b) Preparation of construction drawings and specifications. 5. Capital Projects Engineering Services: a) Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Structural Engineering services.

Period of Performance

The contract will be for one year beginning on the date of ratification with the option to renew for up to five additional one-year terms if agreed upon in writing by both parties.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed within Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Bidder Requirements

Proposers must document their plan or good faith efforts to meet M/W/DBE goals (13% Minority Business Enterprise and 2% Women Business Enterprise). Proposers must also complete an MBE/WBE/Veteran Owned Solicitation and Commitment Form detailing efforts made to obtain participation from veteran-owned small businesses.
