Background

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking to upgrade the lighting fixtures on its passenger rail cars. The goal of this solicitation is to obtain pricing and select a vendor to provide LED lighting for a fleetwide upgrade. The awarded vendor will be responsible for furnishing and delivering the necessary light fixtures, which will be installed by NCDOT at the Raleigh Rail Yard.

Work Details

The vendor must supply LED lighting fixtures that meet specific requirements, including: 1. Smart Light Co. Model# SLS-1X2-20W-75/120-FLP — FIXTURE, 1X2, A&B END/REST, 66 SEAT or Functional Equivalent with input voltage range of both 65-132 VDC as well as 90-132 VAC, color temperature of 5000K, and lumen output >1600 Lm. 2. Smart Light Co. Model# SLS-8W-75/120-RD — FIXTURE, ROUND, A&B/REST/VEST, 56/66/LNG or Functional Equivalent with similar voltage range and lumen output >640 Lm. 3. Smart Light Co. Model# SLS-1X4-40W-75/120FLP — FIXTURE, 1X4, AISLE, 56 SEAT/LOUNGE or Functional Equivalent with lumen output >3200 Lm. All fixtures must comply with applicable passenger rail industry standards and practices.

Period of Performance

The contract is structured as a one-time purchase/spot buy with delivery expected within twelve (12) weeks after receipt of purchase order.

Place of Performance

Delivery will be made to NCDOT Rail Division located at 860 Capital Boulevard, Raleigh, NC 27603.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must be authorized by the manufacturer to distribute or resell the products offered in this IFB. They are required to provide a signed statement from the manufacturer confirming authorization within five (5) consecutive calendar days upon request from the agency. Additionally, vendors should demonstrate compliance with HUB participation goals by meeting or exceeding a goal of 10% utilization of diverse firms as first or second tier subcontractors.
