Background

The City of Kingsland Fire Department is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for a live fire training structure. This initiative aims to enhance the training capabilities of the fire department by providing a compliant and effective training environment. The project involves the design, fabrication, delivery, installation, and training associated with a three-container fire training prop system that meets NFPA standards.

Work Details

The contractor will provide: - One complete three-container live fire training prop. - Three modified 40-foot one-trip shipping containers. - Multi-level live fire training capability including interior and exterior firefighter training props, roof-level access, and a maze/confined space training system. - Two designated burn room zones: - First Level Burn Zone with rollover configuration, draft curtains, and one 55-gallon burn drum. - Second Level Burn Zone with insulated walls, an insulated man door, and another 55-gallon burn drum. - Insulated observation features including walls and ceilings with two observation windows adjacent to burn zones. - Access features such as an internal staircase system and installed doors/windows with spring closures. - A movable maze system consisting of 27 panels and various mounting tubes. - Cleanout features for maintenance including a cleanout platform and chute. - Roof operations features including a working deck on Container #1 and an exterior staircase for access. - Ventilation props including an enclosed chop-out tilt prop and a forcible entry door prop on the first level. - Equipment such as two low-flow nozzles and orientation signage throughout the structure.

Period of Performance

The work must be completed within 420 to 480 days following the commencement date of the contract after receiving a written 'Notice to Proceed' from the City.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at the City of Kingsland, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate experience in live fire training structure fabrication and NFPA-compliant systems. They are required to maintain Workers’ Compensation and liability insurance for at least $1 million. Proposals must include a current Certificate of Insurance, signed W-9 form, bid proposal form, acknowledgment of addenda, and confirmation that proposals are valid for at least 90 days.
