Background
The City of Lewiston, Maine, through its Department of Public Works, is issuing a contract for the Wilson Street, Hamel Street, Demi Circle, Bellegarde Avenue, and Bellegarde Circle Water Main Replacement and Road Rehabilitation project. Work Details
The work includes the complete construction and installation of: - 2,020 LF of 6” ductile iron (DI) water main - 900 LF of domestic water services - 3 fire hydrants - 91 vertical feet (VF) of 4’ diameter sewer manholes (SMH) - 117 LF of 4” solid SDR35 PVC pipe - 104 LF of 6” solid SDR35 PVC pipe - 936 LF of 8” solid SDR35 PVC pipe - 39 LF of 10” solid SDR35 PVC pipe - 130 LF of 12” solid SDR35 PVC pipe - 1,000 tons of machine-placed HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) at a size of 19.5mm - 750 tons of machine-placed HMA at a size of 12.5mm - 150 tons of hand-placed pavement. The project will also involve replacing existing cast iron mains with new ductile iron mains along various streets, including Wilson Street from Lafayette Street to East Avenue, Hamel Street from Sabattus Street to Wilson Street, Demi Circle from East Avenue to Russell Street, and additional work on Bellegarde Avenue and Circle.
Period of Performance
The work must be completed by June 30, 2027. The contractor is required to commence work within ten days after contract signing and maintain diligent progress until completion.
