Crane Elevator OSHA Inspections, Maintenance, and Full Load Drop Testing Wilmington, NC

Background

The North Carolina State Port Authority is seeking bids from qualified vendors to perform quarterly OSHA inspections, maintenance services, and full load drop testing for crane elevators located at the port in Wilmington, NC. The intent of this solicitation is to award an Agency Contract.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services: 1. Check with users if the safety devices have been tripping without cause or if noise can be heard from the device during operation. 2. Check the gear box oil level and refill if necessary; leaking seals shall be replaced by trained personnel. 3. Ensure all screw joints are properly tightened for counter rollers at the rear of the machinery plate and safety hooks on the lift car frame. 4. Verify that the operation of the control system is correct. 5. Inspect elevator ladder and confirm it is latched. 6. Inspect roof hatch hinges and controls, ensuring limit switches function correctly. 7. Check slack rope switch functionality and inspect motors to ensure cars stop within acceptable limits. 8. Conduct a visual inspection of all fasteners, landing gates, call stations, and enclosures for functionality and security. 9. Perform lubrication of various components including rollers, gate sheaves, limit switch shafts, and clean areas such as hoist pits and car rooftops.

Period of Performance

The contract shall have an initial term of one (1) year beginning on the date of final contract execution, with options for two additional one-year renewals at the State's discretion.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at the North Carolina State Port Authority in Wilmington, NC.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must be registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State and provide evidence of this registration within 10 business days upon notification of award. Vendors must also complete background checks for all personnel involved in service delivery as specified in the IFB.
