RE-BID: Tabor Correctional Institution Fire Alarm Replacement

Background

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is issuing a solicitation for the replacement of the fire alarm system at Tabor Correctional Institution. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and security of the facility by upgrading its fire alarm capabilities.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of a new fire alarm system at Tabor CI located at 4600 Swamp Fox Highway West, Tabor City, NC 28463. This includes complete installation, testing, and commissioning of the fire alarm system as per the provided specifications and plans. Bids will be received for a single prime contract with all proposals submitted as lump sum.

The work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the contract documents. The bid opening is scheduled for July 14, 2026.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 25, 2026. General contractors must possess an Intermediate or Unlimited license classification as required by the North Carolina General Contractors Licensing Board. Each proposal must include a cash deposit or certified check equal to at least five percent (5%) of the bid amount or a bid bond of five percent (5%). A performance bond and payment bond are required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Bidders are also required to submit forms identifying minority business participation.
