Background

The Pierce County Procurement and Contract Services is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the Aeration Basin Diffuser Replacement project. The purpose of this contract is to procure 17,700 units of 9” PTFE disc membrane diffusers for the Chambers Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and MLQ Spitter Box. These diffusers are critical components in the wastewater treatment process, providing necessary aeration for biological treatment processes. The County aims to replace aging diffusers that have degraded over time, impacting their efficiency.

Work Details

The contractor will provide 17,700 units of 9” PTFE disc membrane diffusers designed specifically for municipal wastewater treatment facilities. The diffusers must meet the following specifications: - Multilayer PTFE coated, perforated flexible membranes - Compatibility with existing aeration system infrastructure - Adherence to applicable ANSI/AWWA standards, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, EPA Guidelines for Wastewater Treatment, and OSHA Safety Standards. Delivery of all materials must occur within 60 days upon receipt of the Purchase Order at the Chambers Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 10311 Chambers Creek Rd W, University Place, WA 98467. All materials must be securely packaged to prevent damage during transit and handling instructions must be clearly labeled. Inspection by Pierce County staff will occur upon delivery, with any damaged or non-compliant materials being rejected at the vendor's expense.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and is expected to last for one year with potential renewals up to a maximum of five years based on performance and funding availability.
