Background

The Town of Westborough, Massachusetts is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB #27-0200) for the Water Meter Replacement Pilot Program. The goal of this contract is to enhance the town's water metering system as part of their ongoing efforts to improve municipal services.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to install approximately 235 water meters and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) modules. The meters will range in size from 5/8-inch to 6-inch. Specific tasks include: - Removal of existing meters and radio modules; - Installation of new Badger E-Series Ultrasonic water meters and HLG Communication Modules; - Confirmation of valid meter readings; - Provision of all incidentals required to complete the installations. All water meters and AMI modules must be procured through a separate contract and provided pre-wired and pre-programmed.

Period of Performance

The required contract completion period is one hundred eighty (180) consecutive days from the start date.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide bid security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer’s or cashier’s check payable to the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. Additionally, selected contractors are required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
