Janitorial Services for Agronomics Division

Background

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Agronomic Division, is seeking proposals for janitorial services for the Donald W. Eaddy Agronomic Building located at 4300 Reedy Creek Road, Raleigh, NC. The Agronomic Division conducts various analyses including soil testing and plant tissue analysis, generating significant dust and dirt in the facility. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness in offices, laboratories, restrooms, and common areas to support the agency's operations.

Work Details

The vendor will provide comprehensive janitorial services including daily cleaning tasks such as emptying trash cans, cleaning water fountains, sweeping entrance ways, vacuuming carpeted areas, and machine scrubbing lab floors. Specific tasks include: - Daily: - Empty all trash cans; - Clean all water fountains; - Sweep outside entrance ways; - Vacuum all carpeted areas; - Clean restrooms (replenish supplies, sweep floors, clean mirrors and sinks); - Machine scrub lab floors. - Weekly: - High and low dusting of surfaces; - Spot cleaning walls and doors; - Thorough washing of restroom partitions; - Vacuuming upholstered chairs. The vendor must supply all necessary cleaning equipment and materials including a walk-behind floor scrubber and commercial quality cleaning supplies. They are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness in janitor closets and storage areas.

Period of Performance

The initial contract term is one year starting from September 1, 2026, with options for two additional one-year renewals at the State's discretion.

Services will be performed at the Donald W. Eaddy Agronomic Building located at 4300 Reedy Creek Road, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must be registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State prior to contract award. They must provide evidence of financial stability through a certification form and comply with HUB participation goals by utilizing small or minority-owned businesses as subcontractors. Additionally, vendors must ensure that personnel performing services are qualified and may be subject to background checks.
