Background

Anson County has received a $950,000 grant from the North Carolina Department of Commerce under the Community Development Block Grant - Neighborhood Revitalization (CDBG-NR Grant #21-C-4006). This grant is intended to provide demolition, design, and construction/modular home installation services for approximately three low/moderate income, owner-occupied single-family properties. The goal of this contract is to ensure that these properties are updated to comply with housing construction standards.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following services: 1. Demolition and removal of existing structures at three identified properties (AC#1, AC#2, AC#3). 2. Construction of new single-family homes or installation of modular homes as per homeowner preference. 3. Compliance with ADA/Section 504 requirements for all new constructions. 4. Site preparation including utility disconnections and reconnections. 5. Permitting and inspections as required by local regulations. 6. Provision of temporary storage (POD unit) for residents during construction activities.

Period of Performance

The project must be completed within 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Bids are due by July 9th, 2026, with bid openings scheduled for July 10th, 2026.

Place of Performance

All work will be performed in Anson County, North Carolina at the specified addresses: AC#1 (86 Frontier Rd., Polkton), AC#2 (61 Stardust Rd., Polkton), and AC#3 (3498 Cappadocia Church Rd., Polkton).

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be properly licensed in North Carolina and demonstrate experience with new housing construction or similar projects.
