Background

The City of Lincoln, Nebraska, is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of liquid ferrous chloride (FeCl2) to be used for odor control at the Lincoln Wastewater System, specifically at the Northeast Water Resource Recovery Facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure a reliable supply of this chemical to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with environmental standards.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for furnishing, delivering, and unloading liquid ferrous chloride (FeCl2). The specific requirements include: - Estimated annual requirement: 60,000 gallons. - The solution must have a specific gravity between 1.18 and 1.28 at 68°F and contain a minimum iron concentration of 10%. - Deliveries must occur within three days of order placement and be made during business hours (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday). - Each delivery must include a certified laboratory analysis and delivery tag. - The contractor is responsible for all spillage cleanup costs if the owner has to intervene.

Period of Performance

The contract term is one year starting from August 24, 2026, with options for three additional one-year renewals based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance

Deliveries will be made to the Northeast Water Resource Recovery Facility located at 7000 N. 70th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska, 68507.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with insurance requirements including general liability and automobile liability coverage. They must also provide proof of workers' compensation insurance if they have employees working on-site. Additionally, bidders are required to complete a U.S. Citizenship Attestation Form and comply with the Foreign Adversary Contracting Prohibition Act.
