Rebid Coronado Performing Arts Center Elevator Replacements

Background

The City of Rockford, Illinois, is seeking bids for the replacement of elevators at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. This project aims to enhance accessibility and safety within the facility, aligning with the city's commitment to improving public infrastructure and services.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the complete removal of existing elevators and installation of new elevator systems that meet current safety and accessibility standards. The work includes but is not limited to: - Demolition of existing elevator shafts - Installation of new elevator equipment - Electrical work - Compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations. The contractor must ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, requiring payment of no less than the prevailing wage rates for laborers, workers, and mechanics involved in the project.

Period of Performance

The contractor must begin work within ten (10) days of receiving a Notice to Proceed from the City. The completion date will be confirmed after contract award.

Place of Performance

All work will be performed at the Coronado Performing Arts Center located in Rockford, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be pre-qualified with the State of Illinois according to Section 102 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge construction. A certified copy of a 'Certificate of Eligibility' issued by the Department of Transportation must accompany bids. Additionally, bidders must comply with local business adjustment policies if applicable, provide Equal Employment Opportunity certifications, and demonstrate good faith efforts to utilize Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MWBEs) as subcontractors.
