Trommel Screen

Background

The City of Omaha is seeking bids for a Trommel Screen to support its composting operations. The contract aims to procure a new and unused trommel screen that meets specific operational requirements, enhancing the city's waste management capabilities.

Work Details

The contract requires the delivery of one Trommel Screen for composting materials. The specifications include: - Engine: Minimum 74 HP, Tier 4 or Tier 5 EPA compliant, with sound suppression and centralized lubrication. - Hopper: Capacity of at least 6.5 cubic yards with a low feed height of 10’ 6”.

Apron Conveyor Belt

Minimum width of 40”, equipped with rip-stop steel ply and automatic load sensing.

Trommel Drum

Minimum diameter of 6’ 5” and length of 20’, constructed from heavy-duty materials with specific perforation requirements. - Conveyors: Overs conveyor (minimum 18’ long) and fines conveyor (minimum 18’ long), both hydraulically adjustable and equipped with appropriate cleating systems.

General Dimensions

Operating weight between 37,700 lbs to 42,000 lbs, with specified transportation dimensions. - Warranty: Two years/2,000 hours on machine and engine, including training for operation and maintenance at the City’s composting location.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by the delivery date specified in the bid response, which is due by July 8, 2026.

Place of Performance

The trommel screen will be delivered to the City of Omaha's composting location.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a bid bond or acceptable substitute (e.g., certified check) as specified in the solicitation. The surety company must be licensed in Nebraska and listed on Circular 570. Bidders are required to submit a Responsible Contractor Compliance Form (RC-1) along with their bid response.
