Wattles Park Parking Lot replacement

Background

Harper Creek Community Schools is seeking bids for the replacement of a section of the parking lot at Wattles Park Elementary School, located at 132 S. Wattles Rd., Battle Creek, MI 49014. The goal of this project is to improve traffic flow and drainage in the parking area.

Work Details

The project involves the following tasks: 1. Remove existing asphalt and dispose of it according to all state and local requirements. 2. Install a new drain basin outside of the parking lot (location to be discussed at the site visit meeting). 3. Shape and fine grade the existing gravel base to the proper grade in the area. 4. Furnish and treat the area with a solution to prevent vegetation growth. 5. Furnish and install a hot asphalt base course using MDOT mix compacted to 1-1/2 inches. 6. Furnish and install a hot asphalt wearing course using MDOT mix compacted to 1-1/2 inches.

Period of Performance

The project is expected to be completed by July or the first week of August 2026.

The work will be performed at Wattles Park Elementary School, located at 132 S. Wattles Rd., Battle Creek, MI 49014.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide appropriate insurance coverage for this project. There is no bond requirement.
