Elevator Repair and Maintenance Services

Background

The Town of Franklin is seeking to retain the services of an on-call elevator mechanic in accordance with MGL c. 149. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper maintenance and operation of elevators within the town, including necessary inspections and repairs.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services: quarterly maintenance, annual state inspection support, and on-call repairs as needed. Specific tasks include: - Conducting annual state inspections - Performing quarterly inspections - Checking elevator operations during each visit (including door operations, signal fixture lamps, car acceleration, deceleration, and floor stop functionality) - Performing examination, lubrication, and adjustment of various elevator components. The components to be covered include: - Control and landing position systems - Car and hoist way door operating devices (including door protection equipment) - Machines - Motors - Brake assembly - Pumps - Valves - Control drives - Governors - Sheaves - Pit buffers - Jack packing - Wire ropes (where applicable) - Car rail guides (and counterweight rail guides where applicable) - Safety mechanisms. Adjustments will be made to maximize performance and ensure safe operation.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various locations within the Town of Franklin.
