Janitorial Services

Background

The Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is seeking bids for janitorial services across various campuses. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff. The contract will encompass multiple locations, including Acadian, Jackson, Port Allen, and Central campuses.

Work Details

The contractor will provide comprehensive janitorial services that include: 1. General Office & Common Areas: Daily trash collection, dusting of surfaces, vacuuming/sweeping floors, spot cleaning walls and doors, and cleaning glass entrance doors. 2. Restrooms: Cleaning and sanitizing toilets, urinals, sinks; restocking paper products and hand soap; emptying feminine hygiene receptacles. 3. Floor Care: Daily cleaning of vinyl/tile/wood floors; quarterly stripping and waxing of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT); bi-annual deep cleaning of carpeted areas. 4. Interior Window Cleaning: Daily cleaning of interior windows; annual cleaning of exterior windows. 5. Staffing Requirements: Specific staffing schedules are outlined for each campus to ensure adequate coverage during operational hours (7 AM to 9 PM Monday-Thursday; 7 AM to 6 PM Friday). 6. Quality Control: Regular inspections by BRCC’s Janitorial Supervisor to ensure compliance with service standards.

Period of Performance

The initial contract period is for 12 months with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions based on mutual agreement.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have prior experience in providing janitorial services and must submit references from three current or previous clients upon request. All personnel must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., trained in safety procedures (OSHA/HAZWOPER), and undergo background checks. The contractor must maintain insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation including Workers Compensation and Commercial General Liability.
