Mackinaw Dells Rest Area Maintenance FY27

Background

The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking a vendor to provide janitorial and maintenance services for the Mackinaw Dells Rest Area, located on I-74 in Woodford County. The goal of this contract is to maintain a clean and safe environment for the traveling public at this rest area. This procurement is specifically designated for vendors participating in the Small Business Set Aside Program.

Work Details

The vendor shall provide comprehensive maintenance services for the Mackinaw Dells Safety Rest Area, which includes two rest area buildings and approximately 14 acres of grounds. The services required include: 1. Routine cleaning of the buildings, 2. Grounds maintenance including mowing, trash pickup, flower bed care, and removal of debris, 3. Litter pickup in parking areas and ramps, 4. Snow and ice removal as specified. Specific tasks include cleaning restrooms multiple times daily, maintaining cleanliness of lobby areas, washing trash receptacles, mowing grass within specified height limits, and ensuring safety compliance during operations. The vendor must also provide uniforms for staff and maintain adequate supervision.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon execution and will end on June 30th, 2029. The maximum total term of the contract shall not exceed ten years.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be registered with the Illinois Small Business Set-Aside Program at the time bids are due. The contract prohibits subcontracting except under specific conditions.
