Background

The Jefferson Parish Department of Parkways is seeking bids for a three-year contract to provide street cleaning services during the parade season. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the streets are cleaned effectively following parades, which are a significant event in the community. The services will be provided during the 2027, 2028, and 2029 parade seasons.

Work Details

The successful bidder will provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for mechanical street sweeping along designated parade routes. The work includes: - Approximately 800 hours of mechanical street cleaning during the typical parade season (January - April). - An additional 60 hours of incidental mechanical street cleaning as needed during the same period. - Mechanical street sweeping outside of the typical parade season (May - December) as required. The contractor must have at least eight (8) three-broom mechanical street sweepers available for use during each parade season. All sweepers must meet specific operational requirements including having a minimum hopper capacity of 4.5 cubic yards and being capable of clearing a minimum width of 9 feet for dumping.

The contract will be performed over a three-year period, specifically covering the parade seasons from January to April each year for 2027, 2028, and 2029.
