Gwinnett County is seeking competitive quotes from qualified contractors for the Replacement of a Pavilion Pergola for the Department of Parks and Recreation. The project aims to enhance the facilities at Hudlow Tennis Center located at Best Friend Park, aligning with the county's mission to provide quality recreational services.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the complete removal and installation of a new pergola. This includes: 1) Removing all construction debris and disposing of it per EPA regulations. 2) Removing all joists, rotten structural beams, hangers, ties, and brackets, and installing new wood beams, hangers, ties, and structural hardware. 3) Using all recommended tools as per manufacturer specifications. 4) Substitutions for materials must be pre-approved by Gwinnett County. The materials required include: - 2” x 10” x 24’ double beams - 42 pergola joists with decorative ends matching existing ends - Hurricane ties brackets and structural hardware. Installation specifics include: - Installing double joists on existing fiberglass columns - Replacing all joists and rotted structural components - Pressure washing and preparing surfaces for paint - Priming and painting as necessary. Special conditions require care around glass doors/windows, responsibility for any damage incurred during work, and at least one employee on-site who can communicate effectively with county staff.

Period of Performance

The contract period is expected to commence upon award and is anticipated to be completed within a timeframe agreed upon by the contractor and Gwinnett County staff. Work will generally occur from Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM to 4 PM.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Hudlow Tennis Center located at Best Friend Park, 6224 Jimmy Carter Blvd, Norcross, GA 30071.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must meet specific insurance requirements including Commercial General Liability with minimum coverage amounts (General Aggregate $2M, Each Occurrence $1M), Automobile Liability ($1M), Workers' Compensation (Georgia State Statutory Limits), and Employer's Liability ($500K). The insurance company must have an A.M. Best rating of A-7 or higher. Additionally, contractors must provide a signed Contractor Affidavit verifying compliance with immigration laws.
