Background

The State of Colorado, Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a General Contractor (GC) for the remodel of the Watkins Readiness Center, originally built in 1997. The project aims to modernize approximately 5,590 square feet of existing entry and corridor areas by replacing flooring and rubber baseboards while ensuring the protection of existing finishes during construction.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: 1. Field Survey and Measuring: Measure areas to be remodeled and verify existing conditions. 2. Demolition: - Remove existing ceramic tile floor in main level corridor (approx. 1,288 sq. ft.) - Remove VCT tile floor in main level corridor (approx. 3,027 sq. ft.) - Remove rubber baseboards in vestibule & corridors (1,556 lineal feet). - For Additive Alternate #1: Remove VCT tile floor on 2nd level corridors (approx. 1,275 sq. ft.) and rubber baseboards (515 lineal feet). 3. New Construction: - Grind, polish & seal concrete at existing ceramic tile and VCT floors in main level corridors; install new rubber baseboards (1,556 lineal feet). - For Additive Alternate #1: Grind, polish & seal concrete at existing VCT on 2nd level corridors; install new rubber baseboards (515 lineal feet). 4. Stair Demolition and Improvements (Additive Alternate #2): Remove existing rubber treads & risers at stairs (22 each), paint handrails and stringers, add new rubber treads and risers.

The anticipated contract start date is July 2026 with a timeline for completion to be provided by the contractor.
