Summary: Background The Elko District Office Replacement project is initiated by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to address the inadequacies of the existing Elko District Office Administration Building, which was constructed in 1982-1983. The current facility has multiple maintenance issues, is not compliant with accessibility standards, and does not meet modern energy efficiency guidelines. The project aims to replace the existing BLM office and construct a new Forest Service office to accommodate current and future staffing needs while ensuring public access during construction. Work Details The scope of work includes the design and construction of a new BLM District Office facility approximately 19,000 square feet in size, along with a new US Forest Service (USFS) District Office building not exceeding 7,170 square feet. Key tasks include: - Demolition of the existing BLM office after the new facility is operational. - Site layout design including grading, drainage, traffic patterns, parking, security measures, and xeriscape landscaping. - Development of construction phasing plans to maintain operations at the existing BLM office until the new facility is ready for occupancy. - Compliance with sustainability guidelines and energy conservation measures as per federal standards. - Coordination with various stakeholders and adherence to safety regulations throughout all phases of construction.
