Background Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA) operates Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) for the U.S. Department of Energy. The goal of this contract is to secure on-site document shredding services to ensure the destruction of paper-based materials in compliance with DOE requirements for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, transportation, and management necessary for secure destruction of paper-based materials. This includes: - Servicing approximately 40-48 locked collection containers located throughout the BNL campus on a recurring four-week schedule. - Providing certificates of destruction with each service. - Maintaining current NAID AAA Certification throughout the contract performance. - Ensuring compliance with DOE Order 471.7 or its successors for CUI destruction. The contractor must utilize either cross-cut shredders producing particles no larger than 1 mm x 5 mm or disintegrator devices equipped with a security screen for single-step destruction. For multi-step destruction, the process must render CUI unreadable, indecipherable, and irrecoverable. Period of Performance The contract has a one-year base period of performance with four (4) one-year option periods. Place of Performance Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, New York. Bidder Requirements Offerors must demonstrate experience in providing similar secure shredding and document destruction services in highly regulated or government environments. They are required to provide references from at least two companies where similar services were provided, including organization names, contacts, phone numbers, and email addresses. Additionally, all contractor personnel accessing the site must obtain a BNL non-construction contractor badge and attend BNL Contractor Vendor Orientation training.
