Waste Disposal Services for Kerrville State Hospital

Background

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking competitive bids to establish contracts for waste removal services at Kerrville State Hospital (KSH). The HHSC oversees the planning and delivery of health and human services in Texas. This contract aims to facilitate the removal of non-hazardous solid waste from the KSH campus. Both HHSC and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) will be entitled to utilize any contract awarded as a result of this Invitation for Bids (IFB).

Work Details

The contractor will provide removal of non-hazardous solid waste from containers on the KSH campus, including front/side load bins, roll-offs, trash, and cardboard/recycled compactors. The contractor must supply all necessary vehicles, equipment, and containers for collection, transportation, and processing of refuse. Specific tasks include: - Furnishing new or approved used waste containers. - Collecting, transporting, and disposing of all non-hazardous solid waste materials at an authorized disposal site. - Returning containers to their original location after servicing. - Repairing or replacing damaged containers due to normal wear and tear. - Responding to service requests via phone or written work order within five business days after contract award. - Cleaning waste containers as needed upon request. - Informing KSH representatives when services cannot be performed due to inaccessibility.

Period of Performance

The anticipated contract start date is upon award. The initial contract term will be specified in the awarded contract with options for renewal or extension as outlined in the IFB.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at Kerrville State Hospital located at 721 Thompson Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must have a minimum of three years relevant experience in providing similar services. Personnel assigned must also have three years relevant experience. All personnel must be at least 18 years old. Bidders are encouraged to submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan if subcontracting opportunities are identified. Additionally, all personnel may require background checks conducted by the Contractor prior to starting work on state property.
