AfterSchool and Summer For Kids Network

Background

The Department of Education and Learning Coordination (DELC) intends to procure the services of a statewide out-of-school time (OST) intermediary organization to support the coordination, communication, and advancement of Oregon’s OST system. The selected contractor will work in partnership with DELC, OST providers, community-based organizations, education partners, and other sponsors to strengthen statewide infrastructure, disseminate information and resources, support professional learning opportunities, and promote system alignment. This initiative aims to increase access to high-quality OST opportunities, support the OST workforce, and enhance outcomes for children, youth, families, and communities throughout Oregon. OregonASK is the sole Oregon affiliate of the National Afterschool Association (NAA) and is uniquely positioned as Oregon’s Statewide Afterschool Network with extensive expertise and partnerships that empower afterschool and summer programs.

Work Details

The contractor will provide services that include: - Coordination of statewide OST initiatives; - Dissemination of information and resources related to OST; - Support for professional learning opportunities for OST providers; - Promotion of system alignment among various stakeholders; - Ensuring that all work aligns with NAA standards, practices, and priorities related to the Out-of-School Time profession. OregonASK's role will leverage its unique position as the only official Oregon NAA affiliate to deliver specialized support required for this contract.

OregonASK is designated as the sole entity capable of delivering these services due to its affiliation with the NAA and its established relationships within Oregon's afterschool network. No other organization in Oregon has the breadth of experience or connections necessary for this contract.
