Background

The County of Hawai'i is seeking bids for Drywood and Ground Termite Treatment for the Hawaii Police Department. This initiative aims to ensure the integrity and safety of the police facilities by addressing termite infestations, which can compromise structures. The contract is part of the County's ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and property management.

Work Details

The contractor will provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to tent/cover the Hilo Police Station Evidence Warehouse and perform a complete inspection and thorough treatment for Drywood termites and Ground termites. Key requirements include: 1) Applying twice the manufacturer’s required chemical dosage while complying with EPA, State, and County regulations; 2) Conducting tenting treatment and ground baiting over two nights at no additional cost; 3) Protecting existing facilities from damage during operations; 4) Daily maintenance of the project site including cleanup; 5) Work hours limited to Friday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 6) Providing a two-year warranty on treatments with annual inspections included.

Period of Performance

All work must be completed within sixty (60) calendar days from the date of the Purchase Order.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at the Hilo Police Station Evidence Warehouse located at 349 Ululani St., Hilo, HI 96720.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must possess a Pest Control Operator (PCO) license. Additionally, proof of compliance with various state laws regarding tax clearance, unemployment insurance, workers' compensation, temporary disability insurance, prepaid health care, and business registration is required for contracts exceeding $2,500.
