Band Repair Services

Background

The Bibb County School District is seeking proposals for Band Repair Services for the 2026-2027 school year. The district comprises 38 school locations and aims to provide necessary repairs for band instruments to support its Fine Arts Department. The goal of this contract is to ensure timely and efficient repairs of various band instruments, including brass, percussion, and woodwind instruments.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services: 1. Band Instrument Repairs (Brass, Percussion, and Woodwind): Repairs may be conducted on-site in a mobile vehicle or at the vendor’s place of business. 2. Repairs must be completed within seven business days after a request from the Department of Fine Arts & Magnet Programs. Any delays beyond this period must be reported immediately. 3. Summer repairs can also be conducted on-site or at the vendor's location. 4. Impeccable record-keeping is required for tracking repaired instruments with specific authorization numbers. 5. Instruments must be repaired as approved by the Department and invoiced accordingly. 6. If repair costs exceed half the instrument's value, a written estimate must be provided before proceeding with repairs. 7. The vendor cannot be on-site without a prior appointment arranged through the department.

Period of Performance

The contract will have an initial term of one year for the 2026-2027 school year, with options for renewal for up to four additional years.

Place of Performance

Services will primarily take place within Bibb County School District locations, with a preference for vendors located within 250 miles of the district to facilitate timely service.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding employment and immigration. They are required to have all necessary licenses and certifications to perform band instrument repairs. Additionally, bidders should register online with the Bibb County School District's procurement system.
