Major Transportation and Infrastructure Projects (TIP 26-29 Cycle)

A recent meeting document Hendersonville - BOMA Agenda Packet - 2026-06-09 indicates a future potential acquisition The City of Hendersonville has submitted approximately $90 million in transportation projects for the regional TIP (Transportation Improvement Program) funding process, with the application period closing soon. Eight priority transportation projects were discussed, including: West Main Access Management, Stop 30/Drakes Creek Improvements - Phase 1, Indian Lake Rd School Zone Improvements, Innsbrooke & Saundersville intersection Improvements, Sanders Ferry Rd Improvements – Phase 1, Rockland and Imperial Improvements, Sanders Ferry Rd Improvements – Phases 2 & 3 (partials), and Center Point Improvements. Some projects are already in design and could move forward more quickly if funding is approved. The city’s required local match is about 20% (over $17 million), and additional debt may be needed to fully fund future projects. The committee also voted 4-1 to support consultant recommendations for future traffic improvements in front of Durham Farms. These projects will likely require a range of outside services, including engineering, construction, project management, and consulting.
