Summary (Newest Update)

Background The justification supports the extension of contract number 36C26226D0032 for continued Teleradiology Services in support of the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS). This extension is necessary to maintain uninterrupted performance of critical requirements while the Government completes acquisition activities for a follow-on contract. The action is conducted pursuant to Revolutionary Federal Acquisition Regulation Overhaul (RFO) 12, which governs the acquisition of commercial products and services. Work Details The contractor is required to provide teleradiology interpretation services, including STAT, emergent, and routine diagnostic imaging coverage for NMVAHCS. Services must include after-hours, weekend, and federal holiday coverage, as well as overflow support during normal business hours when on-site radiologist capacity is exceeded. The contract physician(s) will be responsible for providing various radiologic procedures such as Plain Film/X-ray, CT/CTA Scans, MRI/MRA, Nuclear Medicine (NM), and Ultrasound (US), including Vascular Ultrasound exams. The services must comply with standards set by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and The Joint Commission (TJC). The contractor must ensure timely access to radiology interpretation services to prevent delays in patient care. Period of Performance June 01, 2026 through November 30, 2026 Place of Performance New Mexico VA Health Care System Bidder Requirements The contractor must be a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with proven experience in delivering nationwide teleradiology support for multiple VA Medical Centers. They must have familiarity with VA-specific workflows and credentialing requirements. Additionally, they should utilize secure technology compliant with VA data protection standards. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent, as it is a justification to extend contract 36C26226D0032 awarded to Vetmed Group (valued at $1,792,625 for 12/01/25–11/30/26). The prior work under this contract and related extensions provided teleradiology interpretation for NMVAHCS across STAT/emergent/routine imaging types (e.g., plain film/X-ray, CT/CTA, MRI/MRA, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound including vascular ultrasound) with coverage requirements spanning evenings, weekends, and federal holidays. The extension language and described radiologist coverage and compliance requirements (ACR/TJC/VA guidelines) indicate continuity of the same core service line while the Government completes follow-on acquisition activities.
