Summary: Background The contract is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) for work at Base Cape Cod, located in Buzzards Bay, MA. The mission of the USCG includes ensuring the safety and security of maritime operations. The goal of this contract is to repair, replace, and retest backflow preventer devices at various facilities on the base to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Work Details The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and services to repair, replace, and retest six backflow preventer devices located at different buildings within USCG Base Cape Cod. Specific tasks include: - Repairing and retesting a 3” domestic backflow device (Watts model # LF009) at building 3154. - Replacing and retesting a 6” fire backflow device (Ames model # Colt 400) at building 3160. - Replacing and retesting a 6” fire backflow device (Watts model # 909) at building 3170. - Repairing and retesting a 1” domestic backflow device (Watts model # 009M2QT) at building 3426. - Replacing and retesting a 2” domestic backflow device (Watts model # 009M2QTRP) at building 5203. - Repairing and retesting a 4” fire backflow device (FEBCO model # 805) at building 5205. Additionally, the contractor must coordinate work with the COR and adhere to safety standards during testing and maintenance. Period of Performance The geographic location(s) the construction projects will be performed (if provided) Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at various buildings within USCG Base Cape Cod located in Buzzards Bay, MA. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have a valid Massachusetts Backflow Prevention Device Tester Certificate issued by the Department of Environmental Protection for both supervisors and technicians involved in the project. Contractors are required to submit proof of proper licenses and certifications necessary to legally perform work in Massachusetts. Additionally, contractors must fill out a Base Access Form for personnel working on-site to obtain Coast Guard Security Identification cards, which will require background checks.
