Kitchen Hood and Vent Exhaust Cleaning

Summary: Background The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for kitchen hood and vent exhaust cleaning services at the G.V. 'Sonny' Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. The goal of this contract is to ensure fire safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance in support of Veteran patient care. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and approved cleaning agents necessary to clean, degrease, and service kitchen vent hoods, exhaust ducts, fans, and associated surfaces in designated food service areas. Services include: 1. Cleaning of vent hoods and plenums. 2. Cleaning of stainless steel baffle filters. 3. Cleaning of exhaust ducts and fans. 4. Cleaning of oven exhaust systems. 5. Cleaning floors and walls within food service areas. Monthly services include cleaning canteen kitchen hood systems, bistro hood systems, bistro dishwashing hood, nutrition & food service kitchen hood systems, oven exhaust systems and all exhaust air ducts leading to exterior discharge points. Quarterly services require proper cleaning and reinstallation of stainless steel baffle filters (approximately 32 each). All work must comply with NFPA 96 and applicable VA environmental policies. Period of Performance The contract will be performed on a recurring basis with monthly cleaning services scheduled between 3:00 p.m. Friday and 12:00 midnight Sunday. Place of Performance G.V.
