Replace Planks and Repair Pilings at Bodie Island Lighthouse Boardwalk and Obse

Summary: Background The Department of the Interior-National Park Service (NPS), ConOps East is preparing to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a firm fixed price construction contract. The goal of this contract is to replace planks and repair pilings at the Bodie Island Lighthouse boardwalk and observation deck located at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, in accordance with specified design requirements. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Remove and replace deck and railings on the ramp leading up to the observation deck. 2. Repair pilings using new bracing, cable ties, and pile coating.
